Like SQC, its classes are designed to have competitors compete against similar installations, so less elaborate system installations aren’t pitted against vehicles with excessive custom work.
The format also focuses on who actually built the system in the vehicle, rather than the owner of the system. This is an ideal opportunity for dealers to show off their creations without competing against their own customers.
“IQC formats will reward the installers; those who actually built the system” Sabourin stated “It’s about time installers and shops were rewarded for their creations, instead of being in the shadows and letting the car owners get all the glory.”
RTA/SPL Challenge takes on a whole new concept in 2011; veteran competitors in the higher classes will be the ones operating the meter and not the judges.
“This will allow veteran competitors to show off their tuning talents” said Sabourin “It’ll show who really are the best system tuners out there.” Triple Crown is for the best of the best; competitors who compete in all 3 formats will vie for the new “Triple Crown Cup” at this year’s Spring Break Nationals.

In an effort to improve IASCA’s image in sound quality competition, IASCA has created new marketing logos that focus specifically on the intent of each sound quality based format.
Each new logo features a stylized vehicle as the foundation, with items specific to each format.
“The goal with these new logos is to show our supporters that not only are we working to rebuild consistency in judging, but consistency within our formats as well” said Moe Sabourin, Director of Operations for IASCA.
With IASCA’s traditional SQi format being broken down into separate and unique competition formats, there was a need for a new “look”. The new look symbolizes that IASCA is looking ahead at the future, rather than revisiting the past.
SQC (Sound Quality Challenge) is now IASCA’s premier sound only format; it focuses specifically on the sound quality of the vehicle’s sound system and not on installation. New classes have been added to give competitors more options and allow them to compete against others with like systems and installs.
IQC (Installation Quality Challenge) focuses on the system’s installation only. |

Dealers, Event hosts and Affiliates have the option to run Triple Crown as an add on, or as an “all in one” format with all the classes.
